Scientific Aid to Investigation started in a way that in 1935 an epidiascope was procured by the institution. The epidiascope can not be considered as advanced equipment as are available today for carrying on an investigation through the aid of science and technology. However, it generated a scientific approach and attitude amongst the trainees. The present building used by the MFSL contains a well equipped and spacious laboratory and a lecture hall. The laboratory contains a state of the art scientific aid to investigation for examination of fingerprint, footprint, photographs etc. The trainees of some important courses undergo practical training in the laboratory besides being taught about the importance and methodology of use of the equipments.
